The basic version of more and more vehicles is already equipped with a rain or light sensor. Since 2003 BMW additionally uses an anti-fogging sensor which controls the air conditioning system.
Indeed it is possible in most cases to transfer the optical unit from the old to the new windscreen, but therefore the adhesive pad – means the crystal clear bond between optical unit and windscreen – has to be renewed. Depending on the model, this can be very time consuming. It is faster and easier to use a new optical unit (all our optical units are already equipped with an adhesive pad).
